Would you like to help us?
We are looking for volunteers to join us to collect stories and reminisces from those involved in hockey, both past and present?
We would like to capture as many memories from those involved in hockey as possible. Whether involved as a player, official, coach, administrator or sandwich maker at all levels - district, national league, international, Commonwealth Games or Olympic - there's many a story to be told.
In January there is an opportunity for training by researchers from the European Ethnological Research Centre at the University of Edinburgh. Hopefully we will learn how to pose the appropriate questions, what is the best recording method and how to store material amongst other relevant information. Hoping to gather someone from each District so that afterwards we can capture memories from as many corners of Scotland as possible. The training is restricted to eight people but hopefully knowledge and methodology can be cascaded later to others interested in collecting oral history.
If you would like to join the training group or simply know some more about this interesting topic please contact Jacky Burnett on EMAIL
