Where memories live on

Scotland's Hockey Heritage

The Scottish Hockey Heritage Group (SHHG) has been set up to take the lead on behalf of Scottish Hockey and the Scottish Hockey family to preserve, share and celebrate the history and heritage of our sport in Scotland.

The SHHG is an independent organisation, set up in 2022 and has been working with Scottish Hockey to ensure that Scottish hockey heritage is preserved and the many fascinating stories shared.

ONE HUNDRED YEARS OF SCOTTISH HOCKEY

To mark the Centenary of Scottish Hockey back in 2000, Scottish Hockey published this fascinating book which is packed with historical information, personal reminiscences, anecdotes and special articles on Scots and their association with the Olympics, the Rules of the Game, Indoor Hockey, Coaching and Umpiring and their long and continuing influence in the International Hockey Federations. Also included is the story of Scotland's first 100 years of international hockey.

The publication is now available as a 'flipbook' - HERE

Hockey Collections

We are always on the look out for any historical hockey material. It might not be very much, but it could be of interest to us.

You may have found some items in your loft or come across items from others that you wish to share with us at the SHHG, so that we can continue to keep an accurate record of our sport and its heroes.

SHHG can also give advice on collection storage and how best to preserve items.

Send us an email and let us know if you have such material and/or to discuss further.
